We are pleased to announce David Jacob of Mitchell, ON will be the Auctioneer for this event. David is a recent winner of the Auctioneers of Ontario Championship, 2009.

The catalogue of collectible horse books and equine art for a live auction at the Can-Am Equine Emporium Show, London Agriplex, on Saturday, March 21st 2009 is now available here.

There are a total of 100 lots of excellent books covering a wide variety of equine interests, including:

The Authentic Arabian, by Lady Wentworth, George Allen & Unwin, 1979. Third edition (and still hard-to-find) of this, the classic reference on the Arabian horse, its history and descendants. Hardcover with Jacket. Very Good+ Condition.
Patterns of Greatness by Alan Porter, Highflyer International, London, 1992. Extremely rare volume by thoroughbred pedigree advisor Alan Porter wherein he details the modern patterns of success deriving through European stallions. Green leatherette binding. VG Condition
Bristol’s Illustrated Horsemanship, 1883;
two Derrydale Press John Hervey titles—Messenger and Lady Suffolk;

Of the 22 Equine Art lots, artists include: Bev Clark, Margaret Dent, Jennifer PrattMarni Koelln and Linda Shantz. We also have work from three award winning photographers in the auction. Dave Landry, Matt Waples and Melanie Prosser have all donated pieces for this auction.
